The State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) is now soliciting Hazard Mitigation project proposals from all counties in Missouri and the City of St. Louis. Hazard Mitigation projects must (1) independently solve a problem, (2) be cost effective, and (3) be environmentally sound. Examples of eligible project types include, but are not limited to, infrastructure improvements, residential buyouts, critical facility generators, sirens, replacing low water crossings, tornado safe rooms, and other minor flood control projects. HMGP projects are funding at 75% federal share. A 25% non-federal match share is required.
Interested communities should review the attached document and submit a Notice of Interest (NOI) form by Tuesday, September 9, 2021.
DPS will be providing a Funding Opportunity Workshop via WebEx on Thursday, August 5th, 2021. Stop VAWA will being at 10:00 AM CST and SASP will begin at 11:15 AM CST. An invitation to the workshop can be found in the document below.
Agencies interested in applying for funds may attend to learn more about funding, eligibility, and requirements. It is not necessary to register in advance.
All applications must be submitted electronically through the DPS Grants Management System (AKA WebGrants) to be eligible for consideration.
