The application period for the FY23 State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) Regionalization grant is open now. The period will run from April 7, 2023, to May 12, 2023, at 5:00 PM CST.
SHSP assists state and local efforts to build, sustain, and deliver the capabilities necessary to prevent, prepare for, protect against, and respond to acts of terrorism. Eligible applicants include local/state units of governments, nongovernmental organizations, quasi-governmental organizations, and nonprofit organizations.
There are six priority areas and four enduring needs that will be given the most attention. The six priority areas are:
enhancing the protection of soft targets/crowded places
Enhancing information and intelligence sharing and analysis
Combating domestic violent extremism
Enhancing cybersecurity
Enhancing community preparedness and resilience
Enhancing election security
The four enduring needs are:
Effective planning
Training and awareness campaigns
Equipment and capital projects
