Cultivating Leadership Within Your Community Workshop
Main Street leaders are the conductors of the Main Street "orchestra" and its many players, including staff, board, volunteers, business owners, residents, property owners, elected officials, funders, and partnering agencies. Main Street leaders can't do the work of revitalization alone. In order to have adequate capacity and to build the engagement and buy-in that are critical for successful revitalization, additional leadership must be developed from within the community itself.
The Cultivating Leadership Within Your Community workshop will provide attendees with a combination of information and experiential, hands-on activities. The workshop content will cover:
Building a culture of shared leadership
Leveraging community engagement practices to build leadership by inspiring people towards a common vision
Building accountable committees and boards
Understanding personal leadership style and its impact on fostering leadership in others
Identifying "hidden" leaders in your community
All activities will provide participants with exercises they can use to build leadership in their own communities.
We are excited that MMSC Affiliate Grant program, Ozark Historic District, is our host for this must-attend event.
